Experiences 3D Without Surgery!
Jordan was diagnosed with “crossed eyes” at 6 months old. We were told that with some patching that she could possibly “grow out of it”. When she turned 5, after several years of daily patching, the use of dilating drops and an ever-changing eyeglass prescription her eyes were still badly crossed. Her pediatric ophthalmologist scheduled eye muscle surgery to cosmetically align the eyes. He told us that frequently multiple surgeries were necessary to achieve the “desired outcome”. We did not pursue eye surgery. When Jordan came to WoW Vision Therapy Center at almost 5½, her balance and coordination were poor. She struggled in any type of athletics (catching a ball, kicking a ball, riding a bike) because she had no depth perception. After a long process of vision therapy and lots of patience from Monica, Jordan now can control both eyes. Her coordination and balance have greatly improved. Thanks to WoW Vision Therapy, she has been able to experience watching fireworks in”3D” something not attainable through surgery. Dr. Fortenbacher has allowed us to trade cosmetic eye muscle surgery for a true understanding of Jordan’s problem and a much better QUALITY of vision. Many Thanks!
